As a lover of electronic music in various genres and styles i have always wanted one of the originators of the hip-hop, acid house and techno sounds. These machines are beautiful and i have always wanted one. The realisation i will never own one or be able to afford one i illustrated them instead.

We’ve had a Hermes 3000 typewriter in the family for years, originally it was given to my sister to practice her typing, but eventually it became a much loved object dart that then found itself consigned to the attic to be forgotten. I recently found it in the attic and dug it out. After doing some research I found that is a much lorded and sort after machine that was used by William Kotzwinkle Larry McMurtry Sam Shepard, Eugène Ionesco, Stephen Fry and Beat writer Jack Kerouac. Also, this machine is converted by Tom Hanks and features heavily in the film California Typewriter.

I am a huge fan of Swiss design and designers like Joseph muller-brockmann have been hugely inspirational as well as educational in my journey as a designer and consider myself partly Swiss trained in design thanks to my early experiences with a Swiss design agency many years ago. To discover I had a original piece of 1960s Swiss design on my hands I felt inspired to create these 2 posters using my Hermes 3000 Typewriter.

After some research and advice from a very nice chap on Facebook I discovered the font used on the type heads on this machine is one of the more sort after font variants used on the Hermes 3000. No it is not for sale.

Off the back of the success of the ‘Tic-tac Attack!’ design on social media i wanted to explore the themes of UFOs further as well as make a nod to the classic era of comic books in the 1950s using 3D Magenta and Cyan anaglyph techniques used in comic books to create a 3D optical illusion.

Series of illustrations for a children's interactive book app. A work in progress and a labour of love. i want to tell the story of the space race and the moon landings and all that came with it. Intended as an educational project but also an excuse to draw rockets.

The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) is NASA and the ESAs next generation Space Telescope. Inspired by its recent launch and my love of space exploration this design was an Instagram post and animated ‘story’ for my instagram page. Showing the capabilities and what we can expect from the JWST.

Growing up on a diet of 1980s action films i became obsessed with the sinister and nefarious corporations behind some of these films protagonists. I wanted to create corporate identities as they would look historically. Worn VHS tapes was the flavour for this project.

Educational content poster for each planet of our solar system. Breaking down each planet to a simple colours and identifiable shapes to allow easy recognition.

The audio of the animation is electromagnetic vibrations which pulsate in wavelengths from each planet. You can hear Uranus, the Moon and Io.
